Andy Miller, MD, is a fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America and a former member of the Verywell Health medical expert board. His current academic interests include teaching clinical infectious diseases to both medical students and physicians of all levels. Dr. Miller also participates in a range of clinical research endeavors, including writing extensively on treating and preventing orthopedic infections as well as covering disparate topics like malaria, HIV, and hepatitis.
Dr. Miller's research efforts have been supported by the National Institutes of Health. He is a member of several other medical societies, including the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America, the American Society of Microbiology, and the Musculoskeletal Infection Society of North America.
Dr. Miller received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Yale College (1994) and a medical degree from Harvard Medical School (2001). He completed internal medicine training (2004) and infectious disease training (2006) at Columbia University and New York University, respectively.
