Experience

Bryan Wolynski, OD, FAAO, is an optometrist who has been in the eye care field for over 35 years. After completing his residency in Primary Care Optometry, he went into private practice in New York City in 2002. In 2010 he joined the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and worked in both their Florida Heiken Children's Vision Program, providing mobile eye care to financially underprivileged children and their Low Vision Clinic.

In 2013, Dr. Wolynski started consulting on behalf of OrCam Technologies, an assistive technology company based out of Israel in clinical and professional relations. In 2014, he returned to private practice in New York City, providing primary care and low vision optometric exams. In 2018, Dr. Wolynski joined Metro Community Health Centers in the Bronx, seeing patients with special needs.

He was appointed as an adjunct assistant clinical professor at SUNY College of Optometry in 2019, through which he provided homebound eye care to residents in Manhattan, provided eye exams at Bowery Mission homeless shelters, and worked as a clinical instructor with students at the University Eye Center.

Through his role with OrCam Technologies, Dr. Wolynski has appeared on several media outlets and news shows such as Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, The Steve Harvey Show, The Doctors, Good Morning America, Inside Edition, Fox News, and CBS News. He has also spoken over the years on the topics of vision care, low vision, and assistive technology at multiple conferences throughout the United States, internationally, and at the United Nations.

Currently Dr. Wolynski is the Chief Technology Officer, overseeing and assistive technology initiatives at the Lighthouse Guild, who provide services to people with vision loss to attain their goals. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the American Optometric Association and a member of the Lions Club. Dr. Wolynski is also on the board for the New York State Optometric Association and the non-profit, Laugh for Sight, which raises money for guide dogs and retina research.  


Education

Dr. Wolynski received his BS in Biology from SUNY Oneonta and his Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 2000. He then completed a residency in primary care at NOVA Southeastern University in 2002. Dr. Wolynski became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2006.
