Everyone is affected by disease or disease states at some point in their lives, whether it’s themselves or someone they know. Many rely on the internet to help clarify questions regarding healthcare and health information. It is important that information be accurate and reliable for those who read it. I am excited to be a part of a Medical Review Board for Verywell Health to help bring that information to the public.
Erika Prouty, PharmD, is a professional community pharmacist in North Adams, Massachusetts. Of her twelve years of experience, six have been as a pharmacist. Aside from typical duties as a community pharmacist, she also provides health screenings, which include blood cholesterol readings, blood pressure readings, and medication therapy management. She has strong relationships with a multitude of providers in the community to help coordinate patient care, and has wide exposure to all different disease states and the medications used to treat them. In the Fall of 2017, she instructed a Patient Assessment Skills Lab course for the Western New England University, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Dr. Prouty received her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Environmental Science from Westfield State University, and in 2015 received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Western New England University, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
