Jennifer Schwartz, MD, is board-certified in general surgery with a subspecialty certification in bariatric surgery. She serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine and practices in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Dr. Schwartz is very active in the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) where she has given multiple presentations and serves on national committees. In addition to her clinical practice, she is very involved in medical student and resident education.
Dr. Schwartz graduated medical school from SUNY Upstate Medical University. She completed her general surgery residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2014 and went on to complete a Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2015. She was on the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for three years and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine for two years, prior to transitioning to Yale.
