Nicholas R. Metrus, MD, is a board-certified neurologist and neuro-oncologist. He currently serves as both positions at the Glasser Brain Tumor Center with Atlantic Health System in Summit, New Jersey. He has dedicated a large portion of his research to neurological complications of cancer and of primary brain tumors.
In recent years, his work on hypermutator gliomas has been presented at national and international conferences. He has published book chapters on primary brain tumors and brain tumor clinical trial development.
Dr. Metrus received his bachelor’s degree from Wilkes University where he was a member of the Pre-Medical Scholars program. He received his doctorate in medicine from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.
Dr. Metrus did his medicine internship and neurology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and subsequently completed a fellowship in Neuro Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center where he was the two-time awardee of the William James Miller Endowed Fellowship Award for his research efforts. He has received board certification in Neurology and Neuro Oncology.
